This is Paul Strange's FF.
The engine has been stroked to 489ci with Edelbrock heads and a very mild cam, to produce 485hp at 5000rpm and 582ft/lb torque at 4000rpm.
The car was owned at one time by Norman Long of Cropredy Bridge Ltd, and was the winner of several JoC awards at that time. Since then it was used extensively by Norman Wheat, from whom Paul bought the car in 2003.
Since then, much work has been done to restore the car to its former state. The chassis tubes were renewed by Cropredy Bridge in 2004, and the bodywork of the car was completely restored by Colin Holley in 2007. Since then it has had a rebuilt uprated engine fitted by John Sleath Racing, with an EFI upgrade in 2009.
Future plans include buying new 17?

Re: Paul Strange's 485 BHP FF II
I am sure I rememebr reading about this FF when it was getting hot after the rebuild at John Sleaths, the problem was sorted in the end buy changing the water pump or housing for an alloy one, but I cant seem to find the thread or blog anywhere, can anybody rmemeber reading that or where I have read it please?
I was curious about the housing they used as it apprears there was a bad run of 440 Source water pump housings, so does anybody know whaere the thread may be please or a blog about it somewhere
Many thanks as always
Grant

I remember the same Grem.
I cannot for the life of me recall if it was a "David Newby Interview" in the club magazine or similar, or something on this forum. Where are David or Paul when you want them?
