Kilvington Classic Range Rover

Post by Martin R »

Another remade classic in the form of a Range Rover Classic, 2- door.
It looks great and has apparently been updated in many ways using a 3.9 V8 as it's heart, totally rebuilt, available with auto or manual box.
It's strong money but, so is the Eagle E-Type or Interceptor R (S or other).

Strong money indeed but great specifications. The place restoring my VW T2 bay is also restoring one of these but I have no idea of model, spec or age. It looked great in green so i will ask when I am next there again.

In my advancing years, I'd want a 4-door if I were using it as a regular mode of transport..

Another company doing the same is https://www.kingsleycars.co.uk/ and only at Eynsham
I also have seen JIA are dabbling in these, the last time I was there they were doing one for an Italian customer, it even had electric motors for short journeys around town.

That's interesting Steve as from as far as I can work out, the Kilvington is also made int he Cotswolds somewhere.
I can't help but wonder what the market size might actually be for such a resto-mod?

Maybe with some City's clamping down on some vehicles emissions driving a classic is the loophole that gets around this?

That could be right. Rather than buy a new luxury car, buy an "old" rebuilt one and enjoy some exemptions, although if you can afford c£180k I doubt the tax and daily charges would phase you too much.
