Jensen Healey, an 11 year old boy from Torquay, has become the proud custodian of his very own 1972 Jensen-Healey after passing his 11+ exams.
Jensen has always known he was named after the fabulous 2 seater British sports car and not the F1 racing driver Jensen Button, and until recently has only owned assorted parts of Jensen-Healeys that currently adorn his bedroom walls.
So why would you buy an 11 year old boy a sports car? His parents have always envisaged buying their son a Jensen-Healey and have avidly watched the classic car market; recently they noticed that the prices were rising, as the marque was becoming increasingly rare. They decided to buy one now before they were priced out of the market, and searched for a good, running, honest vehicle that could be enjoyed today and improved with time by Jensen and father.
At the end of 2016, they found this Jensen-Healey, locally advertised by an experienced classic car enthusiast who had owned and cherished it since 1988. It was the perfect choice, and since then Jensen has enjoyed many trips out with his father, roof down, and is looking forward to a wonderful warm summer when he can visit local classic car events.
