Jensens on TV
Re: Jensens on TV
I am sure i saw a 541(?) with andy Rice Davies on the TV show The Trial of Christine Keeler. Although it may have been a 105E Anglia. Kenny38

Re: Jensens on TV
That's Studio 434's busy 1956 541, YKX 257, which has also appeared in Miss Marple and the Doctor Who dramatisation "An Adventure in Space and Time".
Studio 434 also has, for rent, two 105E Anglias. One is in blue like the Jensen, so an easy mistake to make.

Re: Jensens on TV
If it had indeed been Andy, that would have put an entirely different spin on things.

Saw a preview for Richard Hammonds new show on Discovery Plus.
It featured what looked like a Red Mk2 Interceptor.
At a recent interview he mentioned his dad worked for both Mulliner & Jensen Motors

Re: Jensens on TV
Hi All
Hope you are still keeping well.
I was watching a few episodes of Car SOS on Nat Geo last Saturday, not much interesting on any of the other channels, and came across an episode where they restored a Mk1 Interceptor.
I have not seen this episode before, but it must have been broadcast already, as "Rejen" were featured quite prominently and, as we know, no longer exist as Rejen.
The Interceptor was pistachio green and had a registration number XUK 37 G.
Is it still in the club? I did notice the JOC grill badge on the front, I also remember the owner's name was Nick but did not catch his surname.
Good to see Jensen's still keep appearing from time to time.
Do not forget the "Spring Break" in Inverness.
All the best.
Regards
Richard

Re: Jensens on TV
This story of his seems to change over time. When Top Gear did one of their daft escapades and bought cars at an auction to take part in a rally in Mallorca Hammond bought a 1953 Lanchester and then it was his grandad that worked at Mulliner and who might have built the car he was driving (H J Mulliner didn't do any Lanchesters and hadn't done Daimlers since the 1930s).Pymmie wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 5:54 pm Saw a preview for Richard Hammonds new show on Discovery Plus.

Re: Jensens on TV
I see a blue Jensen Interceptor figured in last nights episode of "The Main Chance" , driven by one of David Mains' lady friends. It's cropped up at least once before in the same series.
Re: Jensens on TV
There was an advert last night for Saga which featured an FF.
16 valves but 4 extra pistons.

Re: Jensens on TV
Here are some screen grabs off youtube at the highest resolution, which is only 720p. First is at 2:06, when they are riding horses, the second is around 27:06 I am looking for more pictures of BEA 426J, especially interested in any original colour photos of Frisco Blue, a non metallic. IMCDB has this appearance listed as episode 6 which is not correct, it is episode 4 as above. .P5BNij wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 6:06 pm I was watching the episode of 'The Persuaders!' last night called 'Greensleeves' where there's a blue Interceptor parked outside Lord Brett Sinclair's country pile and noticed in one of the long shot where Tony Curtis arrives in the red Mk1 Mini ('BAP 245B' which is also in 'Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)' and 'The Saint') that the reg' number is 'BEA 426J', it's the same factory demonstrator that Tony had a test drive in before buying his own Interceptor 'VOL 433J'.... it's a blink and you'll miss it glimpse of the reg' number but it's definitely the same car

I had a go at grabbing a pic off the screen but failed miserably, I'll give it another go tonight!

Re: Jensens on TV
Hi
Thanks to covid/flu I am confined to barracks for the moment. Because of this I was watching the TV today and another re-run of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip and spotted the Blue Interceptor belonging to Great Escapes (mentioned before on this thread), the registration number is LPB 63 N and it has a nice red leather interior.
Regards
Richard

Re: Jensens on TV
That’s quite an old episode.
Car now owned by ‘bashford’ on the forum.
Think it’s the highest mileage interceptor known , and was their most popular hire car.
