The 2017 Spring Weekend will be at The Redworth Hall Hotel at Redworth in County Durham in the North East of England.
The Redworth Hall Hotel is a 4 star hotel in an attractive location with extensive grounds, a large car park, spa & lesuire facilities including a swimming pool. It is close to the A1 and easy to find. We have provisionally booked 25 rooms at a rate of £75 per person per night on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The supplement for single occupancy is an additional £30. If anyone wishes to extend their stay by arriving on Thursday or leaving on Monday the rate will be the same.
In order to make a booking please contact Reservations at Redworth Hall on 01388 770600. I have been assured that if you tell them you are with the Jensen Owners’ Club you will get the relevant rate. We usually fill about 30 rooms for the Spring weekend but we have had to sign a contract and are committed to filling at least 25 rooms so please book early. The cut off date must be 24th February 2017.
When you have booked please let me know (email – healey@joc.org.uk or telephone 01653 628537) so I can keep a list. If you have any special dietary requirements, tell me as well as the hotel so I can follow it up. If you download the hotel brochure you will find full details of the hotel facilities and local attractions. Group discounts are available for the Beamish Museum and the Bowes Museum so please tell me if you would like to visit them. The National Railway Museum at Shildon is free of charge. The beautiful city of Durham is also within easy distance.
The roads in the area are quiet and very scenic for enjoyable Jensen motoring.
Despite all the above instructions this is an informal, social weekend and a good opportunity to meet fellow JOC members! It is not even necessary to bring your Jensen. The Friday evening is very informal and usually starts in the bar! In the past we have had a Saturday morning walk but after the blizzard in Suffolk interest in walking has tailed off. There are so many places to visit in the area people can choose how to spend the day. A scenic drive is planned because there is some beautiful scenery in the area and, as I said in the last magazine, lots of quiet roads.
If anyone in the North East would like to help with the organisation please get in touch.
