The car has been through 1 and half rebuilds in the last 13 years. Long story, see attached if you fancy a read.

The car is currently a primed shell with the metal work sorted. At the time the last reno stopped it was close to being painted. Sadly the folks doing the work (they were doing a great job) went out of business. The engine is slated to be rebuilt somewhere in Perth, though has been on hold until a plan for rebuild 3 is in place.

Could you recommend people who can deliver on this? I saw a beautiful white FF posted on Facebook, apparently it was rebuilt recently and is now in Western Australia. I wondered if that was done locally or further afield?

It would be fantastic to see this Mk 1 get back on the road. The car deserves to see another day. My dad has invested in the car and sadly poorly served by the original rebuild. Any guidance you can provide would be appreciated.

Some images during the 2nd rebuild are included. [ now in the Album] You can see how much rework has occurred.

G'day Steve

Sorry for the late reply. I think when I spoke with you in 2016 we had only just started the restoration. I believe the photos I had sent you were of it after a botched paint job & restoration. So the car was completely stripped back to bare metal and discovered to be full of bog & lead filler;

- The roof had at some point had a Webasto roof cut into it, and then someone decided to fill it in with almost an inch of bog!

- Had been in a front end accident at some stage and the chassis rail and front clip a little worse for wear behind the bog.

- Floor pans & sills completely rusted away.

- Drivers door had really bad damaged, which is why it didn't ever close properly.

So since 2016 it was at a panel shop having a full strip down and new panels made;

- Bonnet skin

- Roof & Boot

- Door Skins

- Floor pans & Sills

But of course the panel shop closed down before they could finish all the panel work, so now I have the Jensen in pieces & looking for someone to take over & finished the job which is always a bit tricky.

I have a lot of photos throughout the process and some of how it is currently possibly to many to email I can setup a Dropbox link for you to check them out if you like?

Regards,

Liam K

Being rebuilt in Western Australia

Notes from Alan and Liam(son IT guru)

The photos I have attached are of the car just after Panel & Paint work in

2006 - 2010ish, unfortunately the car was finished to a very poor standard,

(looked great from a distance and in photos), but it is now undergoing a

full nut and bolt restoration in Perth, Western Australia as of April 2016.
